Lacquer is used in various historical buildings as a craft material from long ago.
Yamizonuri is carefully made by the craftsman, cutting out the piece of Keyaki, and making the bowl shape. Each bowl has the process of lacquering, polishing, and drying. This cycle is repeated many times over three months to have the final product.

漆は古くからの工芸材料であり、様々な文化財や伝統建築物にも使われています。 これらを補修していく上では、なるべく製造当時と同じ材料、すなわち国産の漆を使っていくことが求められます。 国産漆の生産量が少なっていく中で、文化財や伝統建築物の維持ができなくなっていくのではないかと危惧されています。
